The Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif, underlined the government’s commitment on Wednesday during a meeting with the Asia Internet Coalition to advance fast and reliable Internet connection.
The delegation, which was led by Managing Director Jeff Paine, received an update on the government’s attempts to improve Pakistan’s IT infrastructure and encourage international investment.

The PM underlined continued efforts to develop a strong IT framework, highlighting the necessity of incorporating artificial intelligence into the country’s infrastructure. He indicated a strong commitment to establishing Pakistan as a regional leader in AI technology.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif mentioned that the Digital Pakistan Initiative includes a thorough endeavor to digitize all government processes. He stated that digitizing the Federal Board of Revenue will be an important step toward increasing economic digitalization and automation.
The discussion also addressed critical issues such as data security, online content rules, and methods for combating electronic crimes.

The prime minister was briefed of the ongoing consultations with stakeholders on the proposed Personal Data Protection Bill. He also recognized the Asia Internet Coalition’s efforts to advance IT and Internet infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as their contributions to Pakistan’s IT sector
