A new feature known as “double tap message reaction” is about to be released by WhatsApp, as reported by WABetainfo.
This function, which is already fimilar to Instagram DM users, will soon be accessible on WhatsApp, another site owned by Meta.
The feature is now being tested on Android using the most recent beta version. To access it, you must be a member of the WhatsApp Android beta program, which may be joined through the Play Store when seats are available, since they fill up rapidly.
The new feature allows users to double tap on any message to quickly reply, streamlining your responses. You can now react to photos, videos, and GIFs directly from the media viewer screen, making each interaction faster. This double-tap option eliminates the need to long-press and select a reaction, saving valuable time with every response.

A double tap will result in a heart emoji, very similar to on Instagram. If you wish to use a different emoji, you must still long-press on the message to access the reply tray and select your desired emoji. However, the double-tap feature cannot be turned off, which may pose problems for users who mistakenly respond to previous messages when browsing through chat history.
This feature is currently under beta testing, but it should be available to all customers in the upcoming weeks or months.
